Carret is a school-based learning programme that helps children develop the ability to think clearly, create with technology, solve problems and work thoughtfully with AI. The focus is on capabilities they can use in many parts of life.
No. A child who loves stories, art, science or making things can find a way in. Coding and AI are tools for exploring ideas; the broader aim is creativity, sound judgement and confidence in solving problems.
They are Carret’s three levels. Spark, for Years 1–4, is about playing, making and meeting AI. Builder, for Years 5–8, focuses on building things real people use. Ninja, for Years 9–12, develops the ability to direct AI agents and own a real product.
Spark begins with playful making, simple instructions and patterns, alongside early encounters with AI. The journey grows through Builder and Ninja. Your school can explain the starting point for your child’s year.
Carret is offered through schools. Start by asking whether your child’s school offers Carret. If it doesn’t yet, you can use the message below to introduce the idea to a teacher or school leader.
Each level has a signature outcome: in Spark, teaching an AI to sort pictures in Year 2; in Builder, launching a website for a real school club; in Ninja, running a product with 8+ real users and presenting it publicly. Ask your child to explain the decisions, feedback and improvements behind the result.
The aim is to develop their own thinking: set a goal, give clear instructions, check what comes back and improve it. AI belongs within that process, with the learning activity and school’s guidance shaping when and how it is used.
